SOOTHED BY THE SPAS OF SWITZERLAND
by Pam Hobbs
From times as a sickly child in England, one doctor stands out in memory
because he prescribed a month in Switzerland. Well, it took several decades to
follow his advice, but I'm finally here. Soothed by mineral baths and wrapped
in a comforting cocoon of warm towels, I watch the sun go down on the Alps. I
sleep as if drugged, I eat with an appetite to be proud of, and above all I am
consumed with a beautiful sense of well-being.
In all, 250 medicinal springs bubble from Switzerland's earth. When
selecting a spa for its curative possibilities, you should know that the
properties contained in one spring differ from the next. This, as well as
climatic conditions and altitude, need to be taken into accont. I should add that
all of them are considered useful in combatting general debility and fatigue.
